Described in the 1800’s as “The Smoke that Thunders”, but in modern times as “The Greatest known curtain of Falling Water”, the Victoria Falls are a spectacular sight of inspiring beauty and majesty on the Zambezi River, which borders Zambia and Zimbabwe. Do yourself a favour and invest in car hire as we did, to see the columns of spray that can be seen miles away as the water plummets over the edge, transforming the Zambezi from a wide calm river to a vicious river. A path along the edge of the forest allows the brave to view the unimaginable spectaculars of the Falls.
